Vanessa Fernandez

The story

Sound has been the throughline all her life.

Vanessa Fernandez is a certified Biofield Tuning practitioner, vocal coach and sound therapist based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. Over two decades in music and media led her here — to the precise, quiet work of reading the body's electromagnetic field.

Chapter I The road here

Before this was a practice, it was a thread she could feel but not yet name — the way certain sounds landed in the body, an ability to sense what lives beneath words or in the silence between them.

Vanessa won her first national talent competition at twelve. By her early twenties she was anchoring morning radio. Years of programme-directing across Asia Pacific and Australia followed — scripting, curating, producing, understanding which sounds resonated and reached hearts.

Working in broadcasting and production for that long teaches you something most listeners never think about: sound is physical. It changes breathing before anyone notices. It shifts mood before language catches up. These were intuitive signals that landed in the body before they landed in the mind.

She couldn't stop noticing. The more she worked with sound professionally, the more she became curious about the places language couldn't reach.

She started reading — Nervous system research, ancient wisdom traditions, the emerging science of bioelectromagnetism and coherence, and the territory where psychology meets spirituality.

When she found Eileen McKusick's work on Biofield Tuning, something clicked into place. A framework for what she'd been sensing for years. She trained. She certified. And the practice she runs today is the result.

Healing isn't about fixing what's broken.
It's about unwinding what's been held.

Chapter II The practice now

How the work moves now.

Vanessa runs a 1:1 Biofield Tuning practice from Mona Vale, on Sydney's Northern Beaches in Australia. Sessions are in-person or online — the field is readable at a distance, and clients consistently report the same depth of shift either way.

Her approach is attentive and directive. Calibrated tuning forks locate pockets of tension in the biofield — areas where the tone meets resistance, where something is held.

The work is to locate and release. Her voice moves through this too — an instrument for unwinding what language can't quite reach. Clients often recognise what's surfacing as it's found.

Most describe the experience as deep, almost trance-like relaxation. A quieter system at the end than the one that walked in. For some, emotion surfaces — and that's held as part of the process.

What needs to move through is given space to be witnessed and expressed. Many feel a meaningful shift after one session; three to five supports lasting change.

Outside of Biofield Tuning, Vanessa runs vocal toning and embodiment workshops, sound journeys, breathwork and retreats through Stellar Sound — her wider practice for group work and voice coaching.
